We are committed to addressing global, social and environmental challenges by enabling safe, fair working conditions for the people who make our products and minimizing the environmental impact of our operations. We do this by addressing impacts of these challenges in our self-owned and operated facilities and collaborating throughout our value chain and across government, business and civil society to find solutions to build a more sustainable world. In pursuit of this goal, we commit to create timeless products produced responsibly and designed to last longer, empowering our customers to have a positive impact on our planet by owning lesser but better-quality products. produce responsibly

Perona has built a vertically integrated supply chain to support responsible production practices, starting from raw material sourcing to finished goods. Responsible manufacturing lies at the heart of Perona and reflects our belief of ‘timeless products produced responsibly’. We approach product design by first assessing if it is timeless, functional and versatile. Resultantly, we move forth towards making the right choice of materials that will be used in crafting the product. This time staking process is a critical part of Perona’s design and development process.

maximize care

Raw material quality is the key to product longevity and is carefully considered for each product, hand - in - hand with design. Most of our material choices are sustainably sourced materials, ranging from LWG certified leathers, 100% natural fabrics that are easily renewable, and recycled synthetic materials.

extend life

Perona wants its customers to have a long-term relationship with their products. The brand believes that one’s attachment to his/her personal belongings greatly determines the level of care, maintenance and clothing disposal decisions, as the overconsumption of fast fashion has adverse effects on the earth’s natural resources. Therefore, Perona offer its customers mend in-service to repair their Perona Products.

LWG certified leathers

Perona garners garments, handbags and small leather goods using leather that is certified under the LWG standard which verifies the leather manufacturing process based on water usage, traceability and social practices. The LWG certification also helps us ensure that the leather used in our products is produced using processes which comply with stringent requirements and minimises environmental impact. Our certified suppliers are equipped to manage waste and pollution effectively and their leather production facilities are independently audited and compliant across stringent measures of environmental impact.

sustainably sourced 100% natural fabrics

Perona’s sustainably sourced materials range from natural fibres like organic cotton, linen and silks to next-gen low impact fibres like lyocell, Lenzing Ecovero, Lenzing Modal and Refibra™.

organic cotton

Organic cotton needs 62% less energy and 91% less water than conventional cotton. Our organic cotton range complies with the Global Organic Textile Standard and supports practices which encourage better cotton farming.

lyocell

Lyocell / TENCEL™ is a renewable, spin-dry cellulose staple made from eucalyptus trees using a closed-loop process. We source our lyocell from Lenzing.

linen

Our organic linen is grown without chemical pesticides and genetically modified fertilisers, making it sustainable and biodegradable.

recycled fabrics

Perona favours Recycled Fabrics — Polyester, Cotton, Wool and Nylon — wherever possible to reduce landfill and promote circular fashion. These materials are produced using post-consumer waste, like discarded PET bottles, textile leftovers and industrial offcuts.

polyesters and plastics

We prioritise post-consumer recycled polyester over virgin fibres and engage with suppliers using GRS-certified processes that drastically cut energy consumption and environmental impact.

refibra™ lyocell

Refibra™ is a Lenzing innovation that uses cotton scraps and wood pulp to produce a circular lyocell fibre that is durable, soft, and eco-conscious.

recycled packaging material

Our labels, tags, paper packaging material are all made with FSC certified recycled paper and water-based ink to support a lower carbon footprint and greener retail delivery. We constantly evaluate how to make improvements to our packaging design to echo this last step.

manufactured responsibly

All Perona’s self-owned and operated facilities uphold internationally acclaimed certification of being ISO 14001 compliant facilities. This means that their factories have achieved the intended outcomes of its environmental management systems. They provide enhanced environmental performance with responsible use of its resources and lowest impact on the environment taking into accountability measures like traceability, water usage, chemical management, ensuring other environmentally sound practices at every step including zero discharge of hazardous waste.

non-toxic chemicals

Hazardous chemicals are toxic to both human beings and the planet. They are persistent, bioaccumulative, carcinogenic, mutagenic, endocrine disruptive or toxic to reproduction. When you shop at Perona, you can be assured that all the chemicals used in our products are non-hazardous and comply with the Restricted Substances List of Europe.

social accountability

All the factories where Perona products are created are owned and operated by them. These factories uphold the international certifications of being SA8000 and SMETA (compliant) facilities. As one of the most widely used ethic audits, both these certifications ensure that responsible business practices in labour, health and safety, environment and business ethics are practiced by the company. Perona customers can be rest assured that everyone involved in making the products have a safe, fair and equal working environment.

fair wages

We stand committed to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, supporting workers to earn a fair wage. All the workers employed by our parent company are 100% on our direct payroll. They are disbursed wages by direct verifiable electronic transfer to their bank accounts.

respect for all

We strive to provide fair jobs and equal treatment for everyone. We respect and protect human rights and ensure that there is no caste and gender discrimination throughout our factories. Additionally, you can be assured that each employee works in a safe and healthy environment.

ban on forced/child labour

This is a fibre made from a pulp containing cotton residue from cutting processes and wood. It therefore gives us the advantage of cotton waste recycled into a new fibre reducing the need to use virgin raw materials.
